Mobisol donates solar systems to Themi Health Centre

Ribbon cutting at inaugurationMobisol is happy to have had donated two 200W solar systems to Themi Health Centre, a governmental medical centre located in Themi ward, Arusha Region, Tanzania.

The health centre provides essential services such as family health, paediatric, dental, as well as outpatient services. For a long time the centre has been experiencing power outages which posed a great challenge to effectively run the delivery wing that is operational 24hrs a day. This challenge eventually promted the hospital management to approach Mobisol and make the situation known to us through their local representative Mr Menance Kinabo. After surveying the health centre several times, it was determined that two 200W Mobisol SHS would be sufficient to address and solve their ongoing concern.

Maternity ward

One 200W solar system was installed in the maternity wing, ensuring enough light for women, midwifes and doctors during childbirth even at night. The installed system now ensure continuous availability of lighting, something that will seriously help with safe delivery of new-borns. The second 200W system was installed to help with operations at the laboratory to help run the microscope, colorimeter and hemocue – greatly improving the efficiency of testing and diagnosing illnesses.
The handover event was a great experience especially for the Themi Health Centre officials because of the relief that Mobisol’s solar systems have brought to their daily operations. Arusha‘s Deputy Regional Medical Officer who was present as the guest of honour was highly impressed by Mobisol’s initiative. The area ward chancellor Mr Kinabo promised to push for installation of more efficient, clean and reliable solar systems in further health centres and schools for lighting purposes and to run additional appliances.

So let’s look forward to seeing many more deserving places benefiting from such initiatives!
